How To Look And Feel Like A Dover Model

Whaddya know, I don't look like a hobo for once!

The other day I had on pretty much the cutest outfit ever, so I wrangled Michael into doing a mini photo shoot since I felt like a Dover model. And what better to accompany some cute photos than an installment of PONY'TUDE Approved?!

First up are the Middleburg Traveler Boots. Technically, these boots are not an equestrian item, BUT they came from Dover Saddlery and are put out by Dover's house brand of boots, Middleburg. And I think they are fabulous, so they get their own post.

A few months ago I casually mentioned to Michael that I was eyeing up some knee-high, chestnut brown, casual smooth-leather boots. Something to go with jeans, leggings, and casual dresses. A pair of boots I could just toss on and instantly look cute in.

Apparently, he told his mom this, and I was totally surprised when I opened the box containing my Traveler boots on Christmas morning.

These things are beautiful. The leather is really soft, but not easily scratched. The three side buckles add interest without being over-the-top, and the color is a lovely medium chestnut that will go with just about everything in my wardrobe. The boots are also lined with a wicking mesh material, so in case you have sweaty legs, you don't have to worry about being uncomfortable.

The Traveler boots also fit beautifully! If you have calves that are on the slimmer side and are looking for casual boots, check these out. While they aren't as fitted as a riding boot, they don't gap or sag, have a nicely tapered ankle, and are a good fit for skinny or narrow boot-cut jeans.

If you have wide feet, the Travelers may also not be for you. I find they run a little narrow, which is not a problem for me, but may be for other feet.

At a retail price of $165, they are a good value for the quality. Obviously they aren't $300 Frye boots, but the Middleburg Travelers look more expensive than they are!

If you are interested in the Middleburg Traveler boots, head to your nearest Dover store or check them out online.

I'm also sporting the lovely Ariat Highland Vest. I LOVE this vest. The pattern is a fabulous brown/teal/cream/red plaid that goes with a lot of things, and is bright and fun. It also has a cute fur-lined hood, a placket that snaps closed over the zipper, and zip pockets. (Your phone won't fall out!)

The Highland Vest fits true to size - I'm wearing a small in these photos - and has a very flattering fitted design. If you plan on riding in the vest, it's the perfect length and hits just at the hipbone. Personally, I think it's too pretty to trash it at the barn! However, it is waterproof and windproof and can definitely stand up to the elements.

This sucker is also WARM. It was about 40 degrees the day I took these photos, and with just a long-sleeved tshirt on underneath, I was comfortable during the shoot. It's got some sort of fantastic super-light insulation in there, and I'm diggin' it.

The Ariat Highland Vest is currently on sale basically EVERYWHERE. Snatch it up! You won't regret it!
