Still Here

Hi, y'all.

We're still here.

After the high of winning our first horse trial of the season, I found myself diving straight into family crisis mode. My husband's grandfather had passed away, and when those things happen you just jump right in and do what needs to be done. You spend time with family, you make time that you might not have, and you put everything else aside for a while.

After that, we spent the weekend at a wedding (hubby was filming so I ate, drank, and was merry with all of his best friends while he worked) and then traveling to see my family, so I'm operating at a rather high base level of tired right now. This coming weekend will find us at yet another wedding, and then I'll be heading out to spend the weekend after that with my best college friends.

It's a bit crazy.

But, we're still here. I'm still fitting in rides where I can, and I'm still planning on continuing our competitive season later this month. I'm also not going to make the mistake I made when I first moved up to BN two seasons ago after having one successful show at Elementary, and will continue competing at 2'3" until I'm bored out of my mind and easily cruising around the bigger XC jumps again.

Next on the docket is Burgundy Hollow at the end of May, and perhaps a weeknight schooling dressage show between now and then.

In the meantime, however, I need a nap.
