The Owls Approve Blog Hop: A Rose

Since there isn't a whole lot of riding, training, or showing going on to report on here... it's blog hop time!

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
Every horse seems to have at least three names: the "real" one, the barn one, and that special one. What are some of your pony's names?

Dino's "real" registered name with USEF and Weser-Ems is Caradino. I also show him under this name.

This is Caradino. He's fancy.

Around the barn, he's Dino, and has the Italian-American 'tude and passion for food to go with the name.

And then there is the long list of his 'special' names...

D
D-Money
Dinosaurus
EuroPony
WonderPony
Noble Steed
Diners
Buddy
Dude
Boo
Fat Pony (even though he isn't fat anymore!)
Pony

Not to be outdone by his big brother, Max has lots of names, too!

the best at snuggling

His full name is: Maximus Quintus Fluffy McMuffin Pants Stitzinger.

I'm not even kidding.

Usually, we just call him Max.

But he has many other names, as well!

Max-Max
Maximus
Maximungus
Maxatron 5000
The Max
The Noble Max
Sir Maxiumus
Boo-Boo Bear
Snugglemuffin
Nugget
Dog
Dog-Dog
Buddy
Little Man
Maxy
and...
Flat Max

  1. Ahahaha "Flat Max"! I think the names we give our dogs can be some of the weirdest. :) My big black dog gets called "The Long Donkey" and "The Black Salmon." The first in reference to his absurdly long neck and silly crying. The second in reference to the fact that when you pick him up, he wriggles around a lot like a giant fish.

    We are a silly people.

  4. If y'all could only hear the voice my husband and I use to talk to Max... it would confirm any suspicion that I am completely nuts.
